InsightArise Cars turns raw government records into something a car buyer can actually use. Every number on this site comes from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's public complaint, recall and defect-investigation databases. We do not write reviews, take advertising from manufacturers, or accept paid placements.
What we add is arithmetic and structure. We normalize complaint counts by how long a model year has been on the road, so a 2019 car and a 2024 car can be compared. We measure each model's trend on complaints filed in its first two years on the road, relative to other vehicles of the same age, so the general rise in online complaint filing does not masquerade as a quality change. We group thousands of free-text complaints into a dozen component areas, extract the words owners use most, show representative excerpts, and place every vehicle against its brand, its model year and its segment.
How the site is maintained
The site is regenerated automatically once a month. A pipeline downloads the latest records, recomputes every statistic, and rebuilds every page in nine languages. No page is edited by hand. A small language model running on our own server writes the short "analyst brief" on model and brand pages from the computed figures; each number in those briefs is checked against the data before publication, and the brief is dropped if any figure cannot be verified.
What this site is not
A complaint is a report filed by an owner. It is not verified by NHTSA and does not prove a defect. High complaint counts can reflect a large, vocal owner base as much as a real problem. Use the figures here as one input among many, alongside recall completion checks, inspection and service history.

Editorial and AI policy
Every statistic on this site is computed by fixed, published rules from the NHTSA records; no number is written or estimated by an AI model. The analysis paragraphs and FAQs are assembled from sentence templates written by people and filled with the computed figures. The only AI-drafted text is the short summary block on brand and model pages: a model running on our own server rewrites the page's own analysis, and the result is discarded automatically if it contains any number, negation or judgement that is not in the source. The guides and in-depth articles are written and translated by people.
Owner complaints are quoted from the public NHTSA record, trimmed for length, and are not verified individually. If you find an error in a figure, a date or a translation, tell us through the contact page; confirmed errors are corrected in the next monthly rebuild.

These statistics, indices and comparisons are calculated by InsightArise Cars. You may cite them; please credit InsightArise Cars and link to the relevant page. A machine-readable summary index is available at /api/index.json, with links to detailed per-model JSON files. The underlying records come from NHTSA and may include text submitted by vehicle owners. We do not grant rights in that source material; obtain it from NHTSA and assess any reuse rights separately.
