Vehicle Safety Hazard Summary: This complaint concerns an incomplete, non-compliant post-collision structural repair on a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 (VIN: [XXX]).
I was driving approximately 25-30 mph coming over an overpass moving into the right hand lane when my truck right front end failed. The steering and brakes locked up for approximately 50’ until I hit the curb for the sidewalk and stopped.
On Oct 11,2026, at approximately 105,106 miles, I was driving my 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 under 20 mph while entering a short designated turning lane at [location]. I felt a sudden, unexpected bump or jolt.
Power steering went out for 2-3 seconds as I was making a turn into a street , this happened twice to be exact
A known problem with these trucks is ground strap failure. I was driving and all the sudden lost power steering which almost caused an accident.
