I was driving to work, at a rate of 75 mph (permitted speed limit). As I approached an intersection, I tapped the brakes to turn off the cruise control. It did not turn off. I then pressed the brake pedal and it went further down than normal.

The contact owned a 2025 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed with both feet, but the brakes failed to engage properly. The vehicle slid and jumped, and the brakes made a grinding sound.

Summary: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2023 Palisade vehicles. The brake booster diaphragm may become misaligned and cause an internal vacuum leak, which can result in a loss of power brake assist.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the brake booster as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 14, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 245.
