My mom was driving my 2024 Ram 1500 Limited equipped with eTorque and was coming to a stop. While decelerating, the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly accelerated forward without her intentionally pressing the accelerator pedal.
I had just gotten off work around 730 or 745 ish. Drove my truck with the windows down , a few miles down the street to this strip mall / store area i frequent . Got out of the truck went in the store and other establishment . Was inside for maybe 5 mins .
"My 2019 Ram 1500 was delivered to the factory-authorized dealership in [XXX], for engine lights on warning failures under factory warranty. The dealership held the vehicle out of service for approximately 60 consecutive days from XXX.
I was in an emergent situation and beyond for my own safety but also to follow the law i had android auto already connected and used [XXX] to hands free call [XXX] without taking my eyes off the road since the emergent situation was someone almost ran me off…
My differential totally stopped me dead in the middle of a 5 lane highway. A very scary experience. I googled and read that there was a recall on 2018-2019 RAMS for inadequate lubrication of the differential components.
There’s a piece of the molding on the dashboard that is made of shiny material. It becomes blinding when the sun hits it daily. It’s because the material it’s made of that makes it unsafe to drive.
