What owners report
My car randomly lost power on the road and I rear ended some one, my car lost power 3 times on the road.
- The transmission had several problems that failed, leading to the car being unable to drive. The car starts, but does not drive in Drive or Reverse. The exact Honda vehicle codes affected are: P0171 and P0793.
I was driving to work at XXX for my 7:00am shift. Car started bucking and not responding to when I hit the gas. Was nervous so I left car at XXX and walked to work. I had car towed to Ocean Honda in Weymouth, MA.
While traveling at freeway speed, the cvt transmission slipped and the vehicle suddenly lost all propulsion. The engine continued to run and responded to the accelerator, but the vehicle would not move under its own power.
In January 2026, at approximately 80,000 miles, the CVT in my 2022 Honda HR-V AWD experienced a major internal failure.
While on the highway vehicles warning light illuminated and the vehicle immediately slowed down and would not go over 20 miles per hour. Prior to the warning lights illuminating there were no warning lights already illuminated and no drivability issues.
