What owners report
I have experienced this 2 times once in late august early September of this year 2026 and on [XXX] I was making a left turn onto a street in Long Beach, CA in-between [XXX].
Car accelerated unexpectedly when braking at a parking spot. Car accelerated over the curb and hit another car.
At under 36,000 miles, the vehicle experienced a sudden and total failure of the factory electronic brake booster assembly. The vehicle's dashboard illuminated multiple critical braking system warning lights.
Driving on main road (not highway), no rain or other adverse conditions. Automatic Braking System unexpectedly engaged (hard brake). There was no reason for this to happen and could have caused a serious accident if we had been on the highway.
While backing into the home driveway, with foot on the brake, the vehicle suddenly accelerated backward for a distance of about eight feet toward a closed gate, coming to rest just short of the gate. The vehicle could have damaged the gate as well as itself.
This emergency brake happened multiple times during crossing train tracks. I’m not sure if the sensor was capturing anything there but the car stopped immediately. Two incidents occurred in the same street and was after the traffic light turned green.
