What owners report
I parked the vehicle in a parking lot. I walked away and it immediately started smoking. Shortly after that, flames appeared coming from the hood. Shortly after that, the entire vehicle was engulfed in flames.
FIRE FIRE FIRE Information light came on just saying 12 Volt Battery. I sat in the car letting it idle for about 3 minutes. It began to smoke and then burst into flames.
Learning that my vehicle is subject to a battery-related recall has seriously undermined my trust. Battery defects in electric vehicles can present risks that include thermal events, loss of vehicle functionality, and other potentially dangerous situations.
I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious safety issue involving my vehicle. For an extended period of time, this vehicle has experienced recurring starting failures.
The contact owns a 2023 Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine seized. The contact stated that the failure occurred while making a left turn. In addition, a malfunction error message illuminated.
Variable Valve Timing Camshaft KNOWN DEFECT rendering the car unusable at only 100K miles.
