The contact owned a 2021 BMW 330i. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V056000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable.
Description of the Problem: •Component/system that failed: The engine starter, which is subject to an open recall issued September 23, 2025. The starter was not replaced during a service visit.
Several months ago, my digital cluster on my 2020 330i blacked out briefly and came back on. The other day, after temporarily disconnecting the batter and correctly reconnecting, the digital cluster and driver assist items all failed.
The contact owns a 2018 BMW 330E. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine overheated, and the vehicle became inoperable. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The message "Drivetrain - Check Soon" was displayed.
The contact owns a 2023 BMW 330I. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V056000 (Electrical System). The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were not yet available for the recall repair.
The contact owns a 2020 BMW 330i. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the starter made an abnormal, grinding metal-like sound. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the starter had failed.
