조사는 어디서 오는가
ODI는 들어오는 불만을 계속 걸러 같은 부품, 같은 증상, 같은 연식의 군집을 찾습니다. 제조사가 제출해야 하는 보증 청구, 현장 보고, 부상과 사망에 관한 조기 경보 데이터도 받고, 사고 데이터베이스와 뉴스도 지켜봅니다. 누구나 결함 청원을 내어 조사를 요청할 수 있으며, 데이터에는 DP 조치로 나타납니다. 그러나 대부분의 조사는 분석관이 어떤 불만 군집을 자세히 볼 가치가 있다고 판단할 때 시작됩니다.
단계
예비 평가(PE)
첫 공식 단계입니다. 당국은 제조사에 정보 요청을 보냅니다. 차량 대수, 보증 청구 건수, 현장 보고 건수, 공학적 설명, 취한 조치. 제조사는 보통 한두 달 안에 답합니다. 당국이 밝힌 목표는 예비 평가를 약 4개월 안에 종결하거나 격상해 해결하는 것이지만, 많은 경우 더 오래 걸립니다.
공학 분석(EA)
예비 평가가 시험과 상세 분석을 정당화할 만큼 찾았을 때 열리는 더 깊은 단계입니다. ODI는 차량을 구입하고, 자체 시설에서 시험하고, 외부 시험을 의뢰하고, 제조사 엔지니어와 회의할 수 있습니다. 목표는 약 1년 안의 결정입니다. 공학 분석은 보통 세 가지 중 하나로 끝납니다. 제조사가 리콜을 발표하거나, 당국이 결함 추세가 확립되지 않았다며 종결하거나, 드물게 당국이 결함이 존재한다는 초기 결정을 내리고 리콜 명령으로 나아갑니다.
리콜 조회(RQ)

PE23002 같은 조치 번호는 유형, 개시 연도, 일련번호를 담습니다. 2023년의 두 번째 예비 평가입니다. 이 사이트의 모든 조사 항목은 ODI가 붙인 제목, 부품, 개시일, 종결됐다면 종결일, 대상 연식, 리콜로 이어졌다면 캠페인 번호를 보여줍니다. 진행 중인 조사는 의심의 표명이지 판정이 아닙니다. 리콜 없는 종결은 당국이 결함 추세를 확립하지 않았다는 뜻이지 문제가 없다는 뜻이 아니며, 그런 사건 여럿이 나중에 더 많은 데이터로 재개되었습니다.
